Mental Readiness

As your diary pages fill up, your training enjoyment should too. Note how you’ve felt along the way. For example, as your rides become longer, are they still playful? Is your long run leaving you with a more positive feeling about training? With this type of analysis, you’ll more easily see your readiness to compete.

Also, and even more subjective, is your intuition. Brain fitness—your mental emotional state as it pertains to the brain-body connection and overall health—is a powerful preparation for competition. As you derive benefits from training, you should not only get more fit, but more healthy.
