Salads

At least one salad a day is a good rule to follow for better health. Salads provide all-important raw foods, not to mention vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, and fiber. A salad can be a great side dish to any meal, or it can be a meal itself. Making a daily salad need not be a time-consuming, tedious process. In fact, some of the best salads are very simple and easy to make: leaf lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, and other items can be clean and ready for the bowl. Add your favorite homemade dressing or just olive oil and balsamic vinegar and salt.

Here are some great salad ideas, followed by delicious dressings. Don’t be afraid to experiment—adding or substituting just one healthful ingredient makes for an entirely new nutritional adventure.
