Acorn Squash
Carefully cut squash crosswise, scoop out seeds and trim ends slightly to create a flat bottom. Bake in a pan with large end down with about inch of water at 350°F for about 15 minutes. Turn over, add a small amount of butter to the squash, and continue baking until soft. Option: Fill with sautéed diced apples, raisins, walnuts or pecans, and cinnamon in butter.
