Mild Cold Compresses

The benefits of cold need not always come from ice. An excellent alternative is to use a towel soaked in very cold water with excess water rung out. Keep the towel in the refrigerator to keep it very cold. This can have a very good therapeutic effect as well, especially if a five- to ten-minute application is all you require. Don’t underestimate the benefits of this approach. It’s also safer than the use of ice, which can have side effects.
