Normal Foot Motions
The foot has a variety of normal movements. The toes can flex, which curls them downward, and extend, bringing them upward. They have slight movement from side to side—seen in spreading the toes and squeezing them together. These actions can make very good exercises for those who need to rehabilitate their foot muscles. If you’re unable to squeeze or spread your toes, it may indicate poor muscle function, and only rarely more serious problems.
